According to the April 2025 Domestic Mobile Market Operation Analysis Report released by China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, the domestic market saw a shipment of 25.038 million mobile phones in April, marking a 4.0% year-on-year increase. Among these, 5G phones accounted for 19.889 million units, experiencing a 1.7% decline from last year, and represented 79.4% of the total mobile phone shipments for the month. From January to April, total mobile phone shipments in the domestic market reached 94.708 million units, up 3.5% year-on-year, with 5G phones contributing 80.932 million units, a 5.6% increase, making up 85.5% of the total shipments during this period.
In April, 50 new mobile phone models were launched in the domestic market, a 47.1% increase year-on-year. Among these, 19 were 5G models, which saw a 17.4% decrease, accounting for 38.0% of the newly launched models. From January to April, a total of 163 new models were introduced, reflecting a 19.0% year-on-year growth. Of these, 82 were 5G models, up 5.1%, making up 50.3% of the new releases.
Domestic brands shipped 21.514 million units in April, a 4.6% year-on-year increase, capturing 85.9% of the total market shipments. Meanwhile, domestic brands launched 45 new models, a 36.4% increase compared to last year, representing 90.0% of the newly released models. From January to April, shipments from domestic brands reached 82.262 million units, a 7.8% rise year-on-year, accounting for 86.9% of the total shipments. During this period, domestic brands introduced 156 new models, a 22.8% increase, comprising 95.7% of all new models launched.
