OPPO's chip design company, ZEKU Technology, announced in an internal memo that the company has made the decision to dissolve ZEKU Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., its wholly-owned subsidiaries and branches, and terminate all employment contracts starting from May 12, 2023.
In response to this, OPPO stated that, given the uncertainties in the global economy and smartphone market, the company has decided to terminate the ZEKU business after careful consideration. "This is a difficult decision, and we will handle relevant matters properly, and continue to create value with our products as always."
According to public information, in 2019, OPPO established a chip-making subsidiary called SupeLink Microelectronics (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., which was renamed ZEKU Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. in July 2020. The company's product line includes core application processors, short-range communication, 5G modem, RF, ISP and power management chips.
