On June 26, 2024, global technology providers, manufacturers, system integrators, enterprise users, and research institutes established the Global Computing Consortium (GCC). The GCC aims to empower the digital and intelligent society through state-of-the-art computing, with the principles of "Openness, Innovation, Collaboration, Win-Win," at its heart. It is committed to fostering open innovation in the computing industry, building a strong and prosperous ecosystem, and supporting the sustainable development of a digital and intelligent society.
Vision: Empowering a Digital and Intelligent Society through State-of-the-Art Computing
The global computing industry is expanding rapidly, highlighting the need to establish a global platform to meet industry needs and support societal development. Advances in AI and deep learning have led to explosive growth in algorithms, platforms, and applications. The GCC aims to harness these innovations to benefit society and drive progress.
Mission: Promoting Open Innovation in the Computing Industry
The GCC's mission is to promote open innovation, create a thriving ecosystem, and support the sustainable growth of a digital and intelligent society. The global and technology-intensive nature of the computing industry requires global cooperation in technical exchanges, industrial synergy, and ecosystem construction. The GCC is dedicated to fostering this global collaboration to ensure healthy industry development.
Values: Openness, Innovation, Collaboration, Win-Win
The GCC's development is anchored in its core values: "Openness, Innovation, Collaboration, Win-Win." The consortium promotes an open, inclusive attitude, encourages continuous innovation, and advocates for synergy, cooperation, and mutual benefit. These values aim to achieve shared success for members, the consortium, and society, promoting sustainable growth in the global computing industry.
Structure: Building an Efficient, Collaborative Platform
The GCC's General Assembly and Board of Directors have approved key documents like the Global Computing Consortium Charter and Organizational Management Code, establishing a solid foundation for governance and business development. In addition to the General Assembly, Board of Directors, and Secretariat, the GCC will form a Strategic Advisory Committee (SAC) and a Technical Steering Committee (TSC) .
As a consortium for the whole computing industry, the GCC will establish four types of branches to cater to a range of needs. The Development Group (DG) will lead development in specific scenarios, such as data centers, while the Special Interest Group (SIG) will focus on technology-specific affairs like standards, open source code, tools, and tests. The User Group (UG) will represent users across various industries, such as telecommunications, smart finance, and intelligent manufacturing, extending the consortium's reach. And finally, the Working Committee (WC) will support other branches with standardization guidance and quality control.
Let's Shape the Future Together
We sincerely invite all partners in the global computing industry to join the GCC. Focusing on new architecture consensus, new standard construction, and new ecosystem development, the GCC will promote the global computing industry's prosperity, providing solid support and a powerful guarantee for building an intelligent and efficient digital society.
