On May 26th, UNIS announced a major asset purchase plan and a plan to issue A shares to specific investors in 2023. The company plans to acquire the remaining 49% stakes in H3C.
Prior to this transaction, UNIS held a 51% stakes in H3C through its subsidiary, Unisplendour International Limited. UNIS plans to purchase 48% of H3C from HPE Cayman Inc. and 1% from Izar Holding Co. for a total consideration of $3.5 billion (RMB 24.685 billion based on the May 25th exchange rate).
According to the private placement plan announced on the same day, the company plans to issue no more than 715 million shares to specific investors, raising a total of no more than RMB 12 billion after deducting the issuance expenses. The net proceeds will be used for the acquisition of the remaining 49% stakes in H3C.
