According to the latest news from the China Unicom Research Institute, at the 105th plenary session of 3GPP RAN, the project titled "Technical Requirements for Spurious Emissions of 5G Millimeter Wave Base Stations and Terminals," jointly proposed by China Unicom and others, was approved. China Unicom will serve as the rapporteur for this project.
Reports indicate that during the 105th plenary session of 3GPP RAN, held in September 2024 in Melbourne, Australia, the project "Technical Requirements for Spurious Emissions of 5G Millimeter Wave Base Stations and Terminals," jointly proposed by China Unicom, Deutsche Telekom, Vodafone, Huawei, ZTE, China Information Communication Technologies Group, Qualcomm, Apple, OPPO, Xiaomi, Samsung, LGE, and over a dozen other operators, equipment manufacturers, terminal and chip makers, was approved. China Unicom will act as the rapporteur for this project.
To meet the demands of China's 5G-A millimeter wave commercial deployment, the project will define the RF index parameters for 5G-A millimeter wave base stations and terminals, thereby satisfying the frequency regulation requirements in China. The millimeter wave equipment standards and parameters developed in this project will also provide new technical references for promoting the large-scale commercial deployment of millimeter waves globally.
