On August 1st, the National Radio and Television Administration released the main data regarding the radio and television service industry for the first half of 2024. Preliminary statistics show that the total revenue of the national radio and television service industry in the first half of the year was 668.357 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 7.00%. Among this, actual revenue generation was 589.253 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.65%.
By category, traditional radio and television institutions generated a total revenue of 278.444 billion yuan, while online audiovisual service institutions generated a total revenue of 389.913 billion yuan.
The total broadcast time for radio programs nationwide was 7.5616 million hours, and the total broadcast time for television programs was 8.8853 million hours.
As of the end of June, there were 208 million actual cable TV users nationwide, and 25.2271 million CBN 5G users. The daily active rate of large-screen live broadcast users increased by 1.19 percentage points compared to the first half of 2023.
It is noteworthy that according to the main data on the radio and television service industry for the first quarter of 2024 released by the National Radio and Television Administration, as of the end of March, there were 205 million actual cable TV users nationwide, and 23.5854 million CBN 5G users.
Additionally, according to the 2023 national radio and television industry statistical bulletin, there were 202 million actual cable TV users nationwide, with over 23 million CBN 5G users.
