At this stage it is still only rumor but iphonefaq.org, has reported on two mapping companies “Poly9” and “Placebase,” who are said to be working closely with tech giants Apple to come up with the ideal GPS Navigation app for the forthcoming handset. Only recently Steve Jobs and his company have been advertising a total of four posts for engineers with relevant developing navigation software experience. Check out the Job Description below.

But on looking at competition particularly that of Google maps and it’s own free GPS navigation app on Android handsets, Apple will need to come up with something sharpish. As coated.com stated, Apple have already got a little head start as their recent acquisition “Poly9” is solely proficient in mapping services.

Is this something you would like to see on the new iPhone 5? Let us know.
